I Can Make That

Hi, I’m Jessica, the maker behind Mojo Makes.

Mojo Makes grew out of a period in my life when I found myself starting over and asking a surprisingly simple question: What do I actually want to spend my time doing?

One answer kept coming back: I wanted to make things with beeswax, eco-resins, and the interesting objects I find while exploring the Pacific Northwest.

I love the process of taking an idea that exists only in my head and figuring out how to turn it into something I can hold in my hands. Sometimes that means experimenting with molds and casting materials. Sometimes it’s painting, sewing, designing, baking, or learning an entirely new process because I woke up wondering, Could I make that?

Beeswax became a huge part of that spark. There’s something naturally magical about working with pure, clean beeswax sourced from local PNW beekeepers—its golden glow, subtle sweet scent, and clean, non-toxic burn make it feel like bottling up a piece of nature.

Usually, I have to try a new idea more than once (and then maybe a few more times).

That playful experimentation became Mojo Makes.

There isn’t one narrow category that defines what I make. You’ll find hand-poured candles, unique candleholders, playful home goods, unusual little objects, gifts, seasonal pieces, and whatever else has captured my imagination lately. Some things are pretty. Some are strange. Some are useful. Some exist mostly because they make me laugh.

What connects them is that they’re made in small batches, with a lot of hands-on work, pure ingredients, and a willingness to experiment.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I’m making next!
